This intervention engages with themes of repetition and relief through fluid, organic forms. We aim to explore how spatial design can evoke both the uncanny and the sublime, creating an immersive experience that challenges the viewer’s perception of space and history. This memorial installation commemorates Comfort Women by incorporating a structure that evokes the moiré effect. Moments of relief and resolution are embedded within intimate pockets of the memorial, where various programs highlighting specific aspects of Comfort Women’s experiences will be showcased. Symbolism plays an integral role in our design, allowing a seamless connection to both the site and the flowing architecture of the DDP. Ultimately, the installation offers viewers a sense of knowledge and closure through a network of entrances and exits that guide their journey through the space.
